Despite a Fox News Poll that came out today showing Doug Jones (the democratic candidate) ahead of Roy Moore (the republican candidate) by 10 points, my prediction is that Roy Moore will win the Alabama Senate Election.
Even after allegations against Moore of sexual misconduct with minors came out, I said that Moore would win even though everyone else was predicting the end for Roy Moore. I think it is also unusual that Jones would suddenly be farther ahead of Moore than what Jones was when the allegations against Moore first arose. All in all, I think the Fox News Poll was a bad sampling.
I predict that Moore will beat Jones by about a 5 percent margin. Democrat voters in Alabama do not have a good turnout record, and a lot of Trump’s base believes that the allegations against Moore was a political hit job. I also can’t help but think that the revelation that part of the yearbook signature that was offered as evidence by Moore’s accuser was forged would help him recover from the scandal. Furthermore, Alabama has not elected a democrat to the senate in 25 years and an overwhelming majority of Alabama’s voters do not like liberal political positions.
In 2015, I predicted that Donald Trump would face off against Hillary Clinton and become the president of the United States. My friends, both conservative and liberal, told me I was crazy for thinking so. Well, here we are again. Election Day is tomorrow, December 12th; let’s see if I’m right.
